1. How much cake will I need for my wedding?
Generally speaking it depends on what other food is being served at your reception. If no other desserts are being served a 3 tier cake of 12",10", and 8" rounds would be plenty for a reception of 100 guests.

  2. What if my mother-in-law to be doesn't like the flavor I've selected?
Well..... You could ask her to stay at home, or, you could tell her to bring her own cake, or, you could start out on the right foot by having two flavors of cake. Yes, this is available for an additional fee of $35-$50.

  3. What if my reception is outside in July or August and it's 95 degrees?
Have watermelon instead of cake and advise your guests to dress in their bathing suits! Seriously..... This can be done if need be. The cake can be left in an air conditioned room until shortly before the time to cut it, then served promptly. This is very important or you will be serving something that looks like bread pudding!

  4. I have seen the cake that I want in a magazine but the baker is in Siberia, what should I do?
Move your reception there or send me a color copy and I will reproduce it here in sunny New Jersey.

  5. My fiancée and I cannot agree on what type of wedding cake to have.
Find a guy/gal who likes the same foods as you or select two cakes for the reception. This is not done as much as in the past but a grooms cake is a smaller cake, usually chocolate, that is served in addition to the traditional wedding cake.

  6. Can I serve something else than the traditional wedding cake at my reception?
Yes, you can do whatever you want! It's your wedding and you only do it once, hopefully, so I suggest that you serve what you want! Remember it is impossible to please everyone. Some ideas include trays of petits fours and chocolates or tea cookies and berries. You can also have a small cake if you wish to have something to cut for a photo!
